To All Artists:
I created this website to give starving
Professional, Amateur, Disabled & Non-disabled artists a place to thrive. In my previous occupation I was the Coordinator of an Art Department as well as
an Information & Technology Manager from 1997-2005. I have combined my love of Art and
my skills with Technology to create this fun and professional website.
I speak with some insight on the issues of
artists with disabilities because I am an artist with a disability. As an
artist with a disability, I have seen the lack of places to exhibit.
Therefore, I have created this website in order to give all artist a
place to exhibit there works of art with ease and at a low cost.
I would have loved not to charge anything because we as Artists rarely make
money off of our art. For me "art is more of an expression of emotion
then of profit." Unfortunately money is needed to keep the website updated and
running.
This fee will be in the near future, for now membership is free.

What you need to know to become a member:
- Membership is FREE
- 20% of all sales go to (The Independent Artist)
- 20 pieces of art per page / limit of 2 pages per Artist / total of 40 pieces of art
- You may add or remove art on a monthly basis just by e-mailing your request to info@theindependentartist.org
- Web Exhibitions
- Exhibits in a "REAL" location in New York City, USA (Coming in the Future)
- Artwork most be in JPG, PSD & EPS formats. They can be e-mailed or traditionally mailed on CD-R to the address below. If you cannot provide any of the Digital formats please provide Excellent Quality Pictures for scanning (Scanning Free for Members)
- A Biography & Artist Statement
- All artwork must be labeled with Your Name, Title of artwork, Size, Medium and Price
